The competition is open to all artists both professional and amateur. Paintings in acrylic, oil, watercolor, pastels and gouache will be accepted.
Canvases, boards and paper can be stamped all week at Bear Creek Frames in Quincy CA from 7:00am to 5:00pm.
Please wear your name badge during the festival.
Artwork will be limited to any size up to 20″ X 20″ and must be created in the field.
The deadline to turn in up to two paintings, framed and ready to hang for the Friday night Artist Reception and Collectors Party, is Noon on Friday May 24th at the Veterans Hall. The Artists reception and awards ceremony is from 5:00 pm to 6:00 pm in the Veterans Hall on Lawrence Street. The Hall will be open to the public from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm Friday night and all day Saturday.
Any unsold paintings in the Veterans Hall must be picked up by 6:00pm on Saturday May 25th unless the artist would like to dispaly the work in the Gallery at Bear Creek Frames for one month and pay for shipping it home.
Any paintings painted during any workshop will not be eligible for judging or include in the show.
Bear Creek Frames will retain 25% of the painting sale price and the remainder will be mailed to the artist within 30 days of the closing of the event.
Canvas stamping will start at 8:00am Saturday morning in the Gallery at Bear Creek Frames.
The quick draw competition starts at 9:00am and ends at 11:00am on Saturday. You can paint anywhere in downtown. Air horns will start and end the Quick Draw Competition. At 11:30am you will set up your easel in the Bear Creek Frames booth at the Artist Street Fair on Bradley Street between Main and Lawrence Street and put your framed wet painting up for sale and judging. The Street Fair ends at 1:00pm and the paintings in the Veterans Hall must be picked up by 6:00pm.
The “Off the Easel Sale” proceeds of the Quick Draw Paintings at the Lost Sierra Artist Street Fair will go 100% to the artist.
